About Her Art

She is a full-time visual artist based in Kolkata, India, working primarily with acrylic, ink, charcoal, conte, and soft pastels. Her practice draws inspiration from human expressions and mythological narratives, blending realism—especially in portraits and figures—with an abstract signature style.

With an academic background in Human Physiology and published contributions in scientific books, she often finds her scientific understanding influencing the structure and depth of her compositions. She has completed the Diploma in Fine-arts from Sarbo Bharatiya-Charu-O-Karu Kala Niket. Over the years, she has exhibited at esteemed galleries such as ICCR Kolkata, Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Academy of Fine Arts and Kolkata Center for Creativity (Emami Gallery), and has been honored with awards such as the Bhaswati Bose Award and the Bangiya Kala Sampurna Award.

She continues to explore and express stories through art while also engaging in community-based projects like art therapy workshops for differently-abled children. Driven by her passion for art, she loves to develop her skills through workshops of different painting techniques like tempera, watercolour, cyanotype. Several of her artworks are housed in permanent collections.
